In 1995, Stapp and Tremonti united and committed themselves to a pursuing a career in music. The two brought in Scott Phillips on drums and Brian Marshall on bass, and a band was born . They named themselves Naked Toddler and began taking stabs at rcreating popular songs while Stapp and Tremonti took stabs at penning original material.Earning around $500 a week at bar gigs,the band scraped up enought o make a full length cd,which they entitled "My Own Prison". By 1998, "My Own Prison" had released four number one singles in "Torn","My Own Prison","What's This Life For", and "One".Creed was also named 1998 Rock Artist of the Year by Billboard Music Awards.
